The movie poster I chose was Raging Bull. The poster has one
image of Robert De Niro on the left with just his face and him with ha boxing
glove, and the other image on the right is him in a ring in his pre warm up
robe. The image of Robert De Niro on the left, is him with cuts on his face and
with his glove. As if he is still in the fight, ready to fight till the end is
over. The image shows his face with no emotion what so ever. As if he’s been
there before, and just knowing what to do. On the right of his head is him in
the ring, wearing his robe. It looks as if the fight is about to go ahead, and
he looks more than prepared to get the fight started. The white and black color
scheme makes it more dramatic and a lot more intense. The title in red also
makes it more dramatic. The red seems to represent intensity and of the poster.
I think its red because it’s supposed to also represent blood. Which he loses a
lot of time and time again throughout the movie. The images show how male gender
is mainly displayed. Showing how males are supposed to look and be tough no
matter what. For gaze, I do not see how this movie poster uses any aspects of
gaze what so ever. He does not look like he has any emotion on his face.
